Hair styling tools.

Monday, June 29, 2009 0 comments

What a suggestion I received for this blog! Someone wanted me to write about resources for beauticians.
Hmmm... not a bad idea! Well, why not? I am here to help info seekers and that is the purpose of this blog after all!

As is evident from the movies, film stars and other fashion models love sporting straight hair. Personally I too like when the hair is straight. I always wondered how women with short and curly hair manage to straighten their hair.

My hair styling tools offer hair straighteners. Not only hair straighteners, they also sell other professional hair styling tools such as hair dryers, curlers, scissors and much more.

While I was browsing the web site, I noticed an interesting article on how to use hair straighteners to curl your hair.

A truly resourceful website for hair stylists.

Learn embellished quilting easily.

Monday, June 22, 2009 0 comments

During my college days, one of my class mates was pursuing this hobby of creating embellished quilting and she showed amazing talents. Many wanted to learn embellished quilting from her but she refused to pass on her skill for some personal reasons.

Recently I came across a book which can be considered as a complete resource for both the beginning and intermediate quilter wishing to indulge in crazy quilting.

The author Michler takes the reader step by step that includes:
Four different piecing methods,
15 embellishments
1000 embroidery stitch variations
The book also shows stitch diagrams, color photos, and suggestions for use.

This great resource can be bought from Amazon for just $16.49

For eye catching quilted wall hangings, please visit Lisa Paige Textile Art, from which I have produced the image below. This stunning creation is the work of Lisa Paige from San Jose, California. I wonder if my husband's sister Nimmi from San Jose knows Lisa!

10,000 fonts for beautiful websites.

Thursday, June 18, 2009 0 comments

I have come across hundreds of websites in the past 10 years that evoked spontaneous admiration in me. Apart from the attractive header images, lay out of the home page, color combination and clutter free navigation, I was dumb stuck when I saw the fonts used to create the web site.

I assumed that such fonts were the creation of the web developer concerned. While searching for various web development tools, I also looked out for the database of unique fonts.

Today, I succeeded in locating a fonts factory where there are about 10,000 fonts of all sizes and shapes arranged in several categories.
A sample below:

Buy and sell art online.

Monday, June 15, 2009 0 comments

I am happy to have found a great resource for my brother's 7 years old daughter who shows signs becoming a great artist. I already displayed her skills in a few image sharing website. The avatar for my profile displayed in this blog is of her work only.

Online artists is a community for aspiring artists that allows you to setup your own art gallery. You can display your work and share it with others too. You are also allowed to see your work. For that, they are charging a monthly fee of $3.95 .

Quite cheap when you consider how many sales one can make.

The promoters of the web site say this about themselves:
"to provide a portal for artists to circumvent traditional thinking by networking with others throughout the world."

14 Twitter Directories-very useful.

Tuesday, June 2, 2009 0 comments

One day, I believe Twitter will realize that their search feature is very inadequate and will improve in such a way that a Twitterer can easily find other Twitter users that match their interest.

You can even now search Twitter but it will take time to narrow down your search.

Capitalizing on this lacuna, there are several Twitter directories on the web where one can find Twitterers of matching interest.

Directory name: Uniqueness:

1 Just Tweet It. Arranged by categories

2 TweetFind. Free Twitter yellow and white pages directory

3 Twibs Find business to pursue. A Twitter business directory.

4 Twellow. Another Twitter yellow pages.

5 WeFollow. Find Twitterers based on tags.

6 Tweet Top. Find Twitterers based on a range of topics.

7 Geo Follow Location based directory of Twitter users.

8 Tweetminster. An unusual place where politics and life rule.

9 First Issue. For book publishers

10 Legal Birds. Everything to with law. Very very legal place.

11 Twitter Passion. It is for you and I who are Twitter passionate.

12 Twitter Groups. The name is suggestive enough-eh?

13 TwitterPacks Oh, just found a virus there. Sorry, no details.

14 Twitterectory A plain looking directory of Twitterers categorized.
